The heat is rising

Chapter 1 · A very hot August

Switching the machines off paid more than running them. A miner got paid more to nap than to work. Honestly? Same.

When

Aug 2023

A Texas heat wave. The grid is stretched thin and asks big power users to dial back.

What Riot said

≈ $31.7M

In power and demand-response credits from the Texas grid (ERCOT), earned by powering its miners down.

The punchline

More.

That was more than its mining revenue for the month. A miner got paid more to nap than to work.

This coin is that miner, in a hammock, with a cowboy hat over its face. That's the lore, told for laughs: parody, not affiliated with Riot Platforms. We're only repeating what the company said, and it tells you nothing about $NAP.

How it works

Three steps. Zero effort.

$NAP has a 3% holder-rewards tax. It collects in a pot, and holders earn it in $RIOT, split by how much $NAP they hold. No staking. No claiming. Just holding, which is a lot like napping.

Step 1

Someone trades $NAP

Every buy and sell pays the 3% holder-rewards tax. It's built into the token itself.

Step 2

The pot fills

The tax collects until there's enough to pay out. Then it goes out to holders in $RIOT.

Step 3

Holders get paid to nap

$RIOT lands in holders' wallets, split pro-rata. More $NAP, bigger slice. Nothing to claim.

The pairing, in plain words

Most coins trade against SOL. $NAP trades against $RIOT, and that's the token holders earn the 3% in. Hold $NAP, collect $RIOT, take a nap.

The fine print, in plain words

  • The launchpad runs the payouts. It decides when the pot is big enough, any minimum balance, and its own costs.
  • Payouts depend on trading. No trading, no tax, no payout.
  • Nothing is guaranteed. $RIOT's price moves on its own, so a payout's dollar value moves with it.
  • Platform, pair and payout rules are confirmed here when the CA drops.
  • On StonkFun, reward coins collect tax until the pot is worth paying out, then split it across holders in the paired token.

The quote token

Why $RIOT? Because lore.

$RIOT is the token $NAP is paired with, and the token holder rewards are paid in. The miner in the story was named Riot. We couldn't not.

$NAP isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with Riot Platforms, or with $RIOT or whoever is behind it. $RIOT is simply the token this coin trades against and pays out in.

Anatomy of a nap

Nine small facts, one hammock.

How to buy

Four steps to the hammock.

  1. 1

    Get a wallet.

Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Write your seed phrase on paper. Never type it into a website, this one included.

  2. 2

    Get SOL, then $RIOT.

$NAP trades against $RIOT, so that's what you'll swap with. Buy SOL, then swap some into $RIOT on Jupiter.

  3. 3

    Swap for $NAP.

Tap Buy, check the CA matches the one on this page, allow for the 3% tax in your slippage, and swap.

  4. 4

    Hold. Nap.

Keep $NAP in your wallet. $RIOT payouts land automatically when the pot pays out.

We'll never DM you first, and this site never asks you to connect a wallet. Other tokens on Solana use the name NAP. Only trust the CA on this page.

Questions, mumbled

Asked half-awake, answered honestly.

Straight answers, including the ones your wallet's warning labels make you ask.

Why is there a 3% tax?

It's the engine. The 3% holder-rewards tax goes into the holder pot and comes back to holders as $RIOT. Wallets and Jupiter may show a "3% transfer fee" warning. That's expected, so leave room for it in your slippage.

Is the heat-wave story true?

The lore is built on what Riot Platforms said: in August 2023 it earned about $31.7M in power and demand-response credits from the Texas grid (ERCOT) by powering its miners down during a heat wave, more than its mining revenue for the month. Everything after that (the hammock, the hat, the Zzz) is ours. Parody, not affiliated with Riot Platforms.

Do I have to claim anything?

No. No staking, no claiming, no forms. The launchpad's payout wallet sends $RIOT straight to holders. Some platforms skip wallets below a minimum balance. We'll publish the exact rule for $NAP at launch.

How often are payouts?

When the pot is worth paying out. The launchpad sets the trigger and the timing, not us. Busy days fill the pot faster; quiet days don't. Every payout shows up in the Live section.

What is $RIOT? Is this affiliated with Riot Platforms?

$RIOT is the token $NAP is paired with, and what holder rewards are paid in. We're not affiliated with Riot Platforms, and nobody has endorsed $NAP. $RIOT's price moves on its own, so the dollar value of payouts changes too.

Is this an investment?

No. $NAP is a memecoin made for fun. It has no intrinsic value. Rewards depend entirely on trading and can shrink to nothing. Memecoins can go to zero. Never put in more than you're happy to lose.

Can the dev rug?

Fair question. Safety facts depend on how the launch is set up, so we only state them once they're live and checkable. StonkFun describes liquidity as locked via Burn & Earn. At launch this page shows mint and freeze authority status live, and you can check the CA yourself on Solscan or RugCheck.

Build from facts. Start with mint and freeze status from Jupiter's audit flags in the Anatomy section. StonkFun describes liquidity as locked via Burn & Earn; that's their description, so verify it. Check it yourself: Solscan ↗ · RugCheck ↗. Nobody can promise 100% safe, and we won't.

Where's the chart?

In the Live section. New coins often trade on a bonding curve before DexScreener can chart them. The panel switches to the live chart by itself once there's a pool.

Why is the page so sleepy?

Because the rig is. Hold your cursor still and the Zzz drift toward it. Wave it around and the rig wakes up grumpy. Scroll and the heat wave rises; at the grid line the fans stop and the credits rain. And Sleep mode, up top, tucks the whole page into bed.

Which NAP is this?

There may be a few tokens called NAP on Solana. This one is the CA on this page, paired with $RIOT and carrying a 3% holder-rewards tax. If a CA doesn't match ours character for character, it isn't us.
